I've noticed that a lot of your color photos really take advantage of stormy weather and are thus... uh... "atmospheric". Not sure what the best word for it is, but they often have a tangable weight to them. I think this is because:

Deep rich colors, with a balance toward the darker end of the spectrum.

A lot of cool tones - with blues.

Like the darkened edges as well - sort of focuses attention on the scene.

As an example, I took the photo and put the colors and tones on a balanced format. I think it destroys the whole good feeling of the shot. Just goes to show that a "balanced" photo is not always the best choice.

So keep doing what you are doing...
