City - Dong Hoi State - QUANG BINH Country - Vietnam
About
Dong-Hoi town is the seat of Quang Binh (the southernmost province of North Vietnam during the so-called American War). It was also the starting point of Ho Chi Minh Trail. Accordingly, it was the first to be hit, and the last ?dumpster? for all US war planes returning from their missions within North Vietnam territory to "empty" their bomb-load for a safe landing on the 7th Fleet in the Pacific Ocean. Under the above circumstance, the entire province and the Dong-Hoi Town's structure were almost totally obliterated by US bombing. As a result, Dong Hoi has been erased from all marks or signs. When the war ended in 1975, the only construction that remained is the left-over of Tam-Toa Church that you could see here. (Photographed: 6-24-2004)
Thanks for your comments. There is some type of wild grass or shrubbery makes use of the roof as its home since no measure has been taken to protect such historic site. It doesn't look like bike when you move closer...
