Thanks for the comments. The thing i really like about this shot is, the two things i feel make the photo, the spider and the bird, ended up in the frame purely accidently. I didnt notice them until i got the photos on a computer screen. Also, there is enough background focus to still notice definition, while maintaining DoF.
It most certainly was, I like the composition, the contrast and those extra little touches - the spider on the far right side & the seagull appearing to fly into the sun. This say's to me that nature is a fine balance seperated by a tight-trope with each coming step offering up a barb to remind us that with the balance of nature comes great pain.
