I like this style of shot and was planning something similar this weekend at the beach with a group of 6 friends.
I think space between the two would help as you have an imbalance on the RHS of the frame - it does work as is though. As for the crop on her legs - that's perfect, don't change a thing. I would however consider lopping the crown of her head off to match though. May give it more impact.
Do you PS your images much? I like the look but for others they may be too exposed.

I like the composition here very much and the toning is nice also. I think I might have tried to include her legs; on the other hand it's pretty nice just the way it is. Well done.
