Very observant Chris and Margaret, YES, I've been p[laying around with trying to learn how to sharpen selectively and with channels. Obviously I did not do real well on theis one. Thanks foe pointing it out. When I see all my photo's on the web, they look like they have those little artifacts. The photo I just uploaded, Mundy Point Morning, had NO sharpening on the tree line...BUT, it looks to me that it has the same artifacts you get when you over sharpen. Oh well, I will figure this out eventually. Thanks for the observation, thats why I post on usefilm, to get constructive criticism too help me learn and grow as a photographer.

Good composition, Jim! Great contrast with the boat and dark sky.

James, this is lovely. The dark sky threatening to break the calm of the scene below is wonderful. The calm before the storm is definitely the mood here.

Very nice scene, Jim, and nicely taken.
Have you used some kind of edge treatment on this one?
Or darkened the sky a little, perhaps, using a feathered edge? Just curious as I noticed the highlight that Margaret mentions and it made me wonder?
Kind regards, Chris

Beautiful view, lovely colours and compositon. I wonder if maybe you sharpened it a tiny bit too much - a tiny glow on parts of the horizon. I;ve done this before, it looks fine on screen and sometimes when it gets posted it shows a bit of glow round things
