Hi Pinar, I like the tension and dynamism in this shot. Well captured and a very strong use of shadows. The diagonal lines complete the composition. Well captured.

This is great, and indeed motion vs stability. The dark strong 'put to the point' figures look very stabel and really jamed on the print. But then the position you framed them in, right in action works against that stability. That is what a good picture needs; tension.
The picture could be a little sharper around the figures. But that could be some digital quality. You also might be able to use a layer in photoshop to sharpen the image.
You keep surprising and very much entertaining. Great!

Hi Pinar,
I'm pleased to read that the photo was taken at Atatürk Mausoleum. I've been there and I was relly impressed: first of all because I was thinking about some obsolete Cult of personality and instead I found there memorabilia, history, collection of facts and artifacts, that help people in reconstructing the World (and Türkiye) as it was at the beginning of XXth Century. I was also stunned by the number of people, young and old who were visiting the Mausoleum. This Ministry from Netherland, who declared that Türkiye should detaches form Atatürk Constitution, has never been there ... believe me. I'm a fan of Türkiye appointment as a Member of European Union: I've been not only in Istanbul and Ankara (both interesting and wonderful cities) but also in some less advanced part of Country, like Van area. I think it's unfair to tell Türkiye that she doesn't meet the "standard": do I think that the poorest and abandoned parts of Italy, which are ravaged by criminality, really meet these standard? Has anyone thought - becuase of that - about expulsing Italy from EU? Come on .... Many compliments, Pinar, for your pictures and intentions.

29th of October was the 81st year of the Republic and this photo was taken in the moseloum of Ataturk. While I was going there may be because of the joy of the day, I felt the potential of my country and the possibilty of being with or in the Europe. Actually, if it would be so, it will be an end in the "binary opposition" of the west and the rest. I hope Turkey will be a bridge between these two terms. Thanks for your kind comments and I am impressed that you are reading Orhan Pamuk:))

I love Turkey, and Ankara. I'm readng now (in Italian) Ohran Pamuk's book "Kar" and I think that your picture has something fascinating. Perhaps it's a form of self suugestion, but I've imagined in it Europe and Turkey running together ... let's hope it. Great picture and great eye.

yok niye bikiyim. her turlu elestiriye acigim. aslinda fotograf cok spontane oldu. Orasi Anitkabir, kameram elimdeydi, nasil ceksem insanlari diye dusunurken, bu iki kiz kosmaya basladilar ve ben de "simdi ya da hic bi zaman" diyip fotografi cektim. hatta Burak Bey'in de dedigi gibi boyle ay yuruyusu yapiyorlarmis gibi cikacagi bile hesapta yoktu. elestiriler icin tesekkurler.

Evet gercekten fotografin ismi ile uyumlu. Hatta cok guzel de bir cikarim gerceklestirmissin. Ancak kizacaksin ama ben yine dogalliktan yanayim. Yani PS'ye guvenmiyorum... Bence orjinali B&W yapsan yetermis! Tabii kadraji ile. Dusunce cok guzel, sonuc bence dusunce kadar etkili degil. Biliyorum biktin elestirilerimden. Ama icimden geleni yazmak durumundayim. Herkese yorumlari icin cok tesekkur ederim. Evet gercekten kontrasi biraz abartmisim. bu fotografin birkac versiyonu vardi, daha dengeli olanlardan birini ekliyorum. cok "binary opposition" degil bu seferki ama yine de sevdigim bir versiyon.
