Sharrie:
Thanks for the comment - this is an older photograph in my portfolio, so you must have dug way in to get to it. Thanks for visiting.

Time & tide wait for no man. They say there's always a reason for ending up where you're. I love your pictures of the pools, yet, it's this one that I first clicked on. So, I suppose there's a magic here!

Combining two of my favorite arts, Haiku and Photography this image is absolutely astounding! The photograph is simply amazing. The crisp, details in the tide meeting the sand, and the froth as it reaches the shore, it demands the focus of your eyes. Panning upward you follow the detailed rocks jutting from the shoreline leading into the white water hugging its base and extending to the distant islands. What a picture!

Hugo - No desaturation. I'm going to give up a secret here...
There was a lens flare in the upper left, spread across the photograph in a circle. The major alteration here is that I went in and took it out. I thought it added an additional layer of meaning to the poem in that the quite natural effect could be washed out by some PS tools.
It's like it never happened, and history was none the wiser.

Hi Michae, very moody landscape. To quote your own words in your portfolio: "the transition between family vacation snapshots and beautify nature and landscape photography".... Can they be the same? Ofcourse they can! This is a vivid example... When I'm travelling i strive to atchieve the same. This is awesome! The dark tones create an almost mystical element here... Very cool.
Just out of curiosity; (yeah, I know this is not the Abyss pool) have you desaturated this one too? 'Cause if so, then I think it's very well applied...:)
Cheers,
Hugo

This is spectacular, Michael! I especially love how the high contrast plays the white foam against the shadowed rock. Great juxtaposition.
