Thank you for changing the name of the town :-)
In every language exist 'local' names of the foreign cities. The example I gave exists not becasue Poland has governed german towns! The reason is that there were many contact, relations between Poland and Germany so we have named german towns with our versions of original names. The same was with the english (Londyn in place of London for example), french (Marsylia in place of Marseille for example) cities.

'Krakau' is the german name of this town. This town was and is the polish one!
Would you like me to use polish names of german towns: Norymberga (Nürnberg), Kolonia (Köln), Kilonia (Kiel), Akwizgran (Aachen)??

Thanks Wacek for your comment. You´re right - the name is Krakow today but has been called Krakau for centuries. My picture was made in 1996.

There is no 'Krakau' town in Poland! :-/ But there is town Krakow (Kraków). The picture shows the Planty park, made in place of the ancient city walls.
Instead of that great picture.
