Hey Chris,
Like you said... many a times, I guess you do have to go that extra mile (literally)... you could be a mile up in air and it would be a totally different image... if you were a lil ahead...you would be in water and it would be a totally different image... and apart from composition there is so much you can do in terms of film/format/time of day/ pre and postprocess...
but for anyone like me or you for who photography is not a job..there is very limited amount of time to do all that.... so you end up taking pictures which will put a smile on your face 20 years down the line..
i was just joking.... though it was marysue who told us that she is much much smarter and you copy her all the time..hehehaha ;)

You distinguish your photo by posting it first.

Sai - Well, she does deserve the credit... but it does bring up an interesting point... when you have an interesting landscape scene with a limited view point and with about 1200 photographers dropping by and firing off some photos, how do you go that extra mile and distinguish your shot from the other 1200 taken that day?

All - OK here is part of the view from the other direction. This really doesn't show the number of photographers around (or the variation in cameras). Everything thing here from P&S to 8x10 view cameras on the hillside. It sounds a bit like the background of a crisis press conference.
I'm sure that there will be a number of very impressive (and big) photos in the galleries in Jackson, WY.
