Jasenka. I will be keen to see some photos of your finches as you experiment with their modelling skills. Let me know when you put some up please.

Great photo Judy... I have finches also (actually when I saw this photo I thought they are my finches....) and I know how hard is to capture them, because they don't stay in one place a lot....

Stu, I hope that one day you might be able to enjoy them again. They bring out the best in people. Very calming and they work well with children. Especially in the classroom.

Rafi. You haven't seen these ones before. We have over 200 birds and have given up counting. I always ensure though that you don't see the same bird twice unless on request. With the Zebra finches we have about 90 with many different mutations of them. In this image you will see three different mutations.
Thanking you

You seem to like these finks. I've seen tham before, but then there were just two of them. Are they really finks and are they yours? Thank you for your friendly comment on my "Queen of hearts". Caming for you I cherish it all the more. Best regards, Rafi

I'm very sorry to hear about your bad experience with the fireworks. It always angers me when I hear of people misusing them. Best wishes, Kurt

Amazing, Judi! Is there any creature you can't charm into posing for you? : ) The diagonal composition is really ideal for this shot. How long before the fledgling develops color like the two others. And are the males more colorful than the females? Kurt

That is so sad. I am sorry you had to experience that. The poor little critters. why do people have to pull pranks like that, escapes me.
I hope that one day you will have the pleasure of their company again.

Cute little birds.
Used to keep an expanded family myself years ago until one newyear's eve someone set off a load of fireworks just outside my window. When I returned home I only noticed the soot on the glass and all the birds were dead in their cage, literally frightened to death.
Roommate told me what happened, but had been unable to track down the culprits.
Maybe some day I'll start raising birds again...
