Hi Ryan, Sorry but as I said in the reply to VAR, I don't know exactly how long was this exposure (didn't have a watch with me) but you're right.. it should be between 20 and 30 minutes. And I agree with you, the noise on the CMOS of the canon is amazingly low (and when you resize the picture for the web it almost disappears, so this helps too). I recommand it to you for your night shots which, by the way, are really cool ;) Good luck with you astronomy pictures Chris
Thanks for your comment. About your question, in fact it took about 20-30 minutes to take this picture (actually I used the "bulp" option and locked the shutter open for a while, not paying too much attention to the time as I was trying this for the first time). Not ALL cameras have this option but most of them have it. With this setting you can open the shutter as long as you want.
Great star trails! How long was this exposure? Looks to be about 20 minutes or so. I'm impressed with the low noise levels on the 300D with such a long exposure. More reason for me to get the 20D! Someday...
Hi, :) Hard to explain why but I really like this picture. The universe mutes me...I don't know too much about photography...you can set you camera to 5 min. shutter speed? Do all Digital SLR have that option? Thank you.. var-
