A bit grainy, but definately a very strong image with the thunderous clouds over the barren, rural landscape. The fence in the foreground is an excellent touch, well composed!
Cheers,
Hugo

It rained here once. I'm pretty sure I remember.
This sure sets the mood of impending storm. There is a lot of grain or noise, which may be intentional, in order to give it a gritty look.

Slick. Nothin' like the high lonesome I like to say.
Looks like you hit the sky with a seperate mask and then contrast (levels) to darken. That's cool, I do it too, but in this case you have a faint masking line. If you did not, I'm full of poop and will have my stupidity publicly flaunted.
I was thinkin' that the light grass in front brings a nice lightness to the forefront and helps make the plain recede. Have you ever condidered trying intentionally to make color differentiation or shading work to make the ground recede into space? Might be something to try. I have no idea how to plan it other than stubling across the right place while driving around.
I like how you are shooting low to the ground - since you have a digital camera try shooting how you normally would (to know you got the shot), then try one more really low on the ground. Or, look for something interesting in the foreground like a glacial erratic to show the recession in space and diverify the interest from close/far.
I have an example I'll try to dig up for ya. Maybe stop by my portfolios and look at the Tree Molds Trail photo - not a great shot but the tree and background give off some nice interplay.

oh, i like this one! i like the green/blue contrast. the white tufts in the foreground echo the blue funnels in the sky which is really clever.
