Hi Andrea, I think you had a very good idea to turn this one bw. I tried it, and was convince;-))
Here is the result if you are interested. I didn't put too much time: turn bw and add some contrast.

Hi Joey,
this one could have been an impressive photo. However, being in colour it is just average.
In my mind you have seen the essentials: An old building, the window and the shadow. Very nice. But leaving the colour (which does not add information here) and not increasing the contrast (ideally the shadow is just black - or as close to black as you can get it), destracts from that nice concept.
Again, just my mind (and don't take it that serious, I am a bw freak!)
