michael, my bad. happens to me with my photos quite a bit. sometimes it's hard to tell whether it's haze or not. doesn't matter anyhow. still love the shot.

Tom - This was just a normal hand held shot straigt off of my camera's meter on a sunny day, probably F8 with 1/125. The photo should be clear out to infinity, what you see is haze from air pollution.

michael, like you said to me earlier: "sometimes you gotta break the rules". who says all landscapes must be tack sharp to infinity? this looks great! and that rock on the right is a huge bonus. the tree seems to be moving; almost walking. i'm picturing an ent on his way to pick a fight with the rock. this is effect is brought about not only by the lean of the tree but also aided by softish background. very well done! excellent shot!
