what if Lucy used excessive compression intentionally,as a kind of filtering? apart from the appearance of your image,Lucy,i agree that it's well seen but also framed tighter than needed. keep shooting!

You compressed it to hard.. dont you use highest quality setting on your camera? I would also suggest that you show the floor asswell.. now i just wonder whats under the part where you photo ends! Good idea though and nice depth. Out there and try again..=)
