Al, if you haven't done so all ready - visit http://www.atncentral.com/download.htm for some free PS action sets. The ones I use most are the "Grunge" effect and the IR actions but have been dabbling with them here and there. The grunge one I did on my "Who's Your Froggy" which is a pretty cool effect. I do adjust them as needed but you will love to play with them I promise. As for this shot - she has wonderful eyes. You might try the "Center Color" effect on this to take out distracting background and create a unique look (it's a PS standard action). I think this is a very nice shot and love the sunlight on her for a halo effect. Sincerely.

Thanks Nitish, I kept the size cause she want an 8X10. I also argued with myself about it being too soft. The greenery I'll have to work on my skills for a little more.

Nice head and shoulder portrait, Al. A tighter crop on the sides will draw more attention to the face. I think that darkening or eliminating the bright greenery near the top edge will help the overall look. I like the expression and pose of the model. I'd go with slightly less softening, but this is really a personal preference. I like the way the light falls on her shoulders giving a flattering look.
