Hi Marta, It is the first time I hear a lens is too sharp. You can always soften an image (when you shoot or with Photoshop). I am afraid, the contrary is not possible. This is my second 85 mm 1.8 and I am always satisfied with this lens. P.S. You do quite well with your 50 mm

How much do you like your nikon 85mm? I was going to buy one but i read in the reviews that it is too sharp for portraits.
