About I had a shot with both the Water Tower and the Hancock building that, after rotations and other transformations lost a lot of image quality. I threw it into GIMP 2.0 and created Sobel and embossing layers. Mixing them all with 50% transparency yielded this image. Let me know what you think.

Original image was: Aperture 7.1, exposure time 1/350s, focal length 5.4mm, focal distance 2.22m

I like this...It seems most if those who commented didn't get it

Well! I'd put it this way: I think that the digital procesing of the picture have pushed it far from "photography" and closer to "graphic" and "abstract" work but without a meaningful "message" or something like that. The processing has disconnected the photography from the amazing and exciting world of reality but did not connected it to an abstract sensation(?). Anyhow I still prefer the first version.

Here is my third try. For some reason, the picture attach did not work last night.

Let's try this again with a picture attached: I hear you. On my screen it looks pretty interesting. What about this version with the sky still intact? "I don't like it" is an ok answer, too :-)

Potentially interesting pair of subjects but all those filters have not improved the photo.
