Thank you very much for your considered comment Tom. It's flattering when one of your pictures speaks to the viewer and the viewer takes the time to articulate their feelings. This road leads to one of the scenic gems of New Zealand and never fails to excite and intrigue me when I tavel on it, no matter what season. Regards John

john, i love it! makes me feel at home. not that i live in NZ or anywhere that looks even remote like this. i'm refering to the home in my mind and heart. excellent graphic composition. beautiful color contrast and symmetry. bright yellow grass interupted by the road that always calls you to follow it further. further into the unkown. the unknown beauty hidden behind the next bend or shrowded by fog. perfect balance of light, color and gloom.
btw, it's been a while since i've looked at your portfolio. i'm glad to see you've continued to produce excellent images. it'll take a while to get through it but i'll deifinitely be trolling it more often ;^)
take care, tom

Hi John, Totally awesome photo. Extremely powerful image, with the barren uninviting landscape and low cloudcover. Awesome on it's own, but the arrow is the absolute stunner. Completely useless (I mean, where else can you go? As if urging me forward out of the confort zone... Great lighting and composition.... A definate favourite!
Cheers,
Hugo

Very imaginative and effective. The light spot on the road in the distance adds something. Well seen.

A picture of two halves, John! The bottom half, clinically sharp and clear; the top half, soft and misty! Excellent work as ever! Kind regards, Chris

I love the composition here - most would make the mistake of putting the arrow dead set in the center -- great composition and the atmosphere of the image is superb. The balance is perfect. K

Good pic, wonderful light.I'd offer this to a photo library, images with strong symbolism go down well.
