About
Mount Soledad, La Jolla Ca.
(description by Michael Worth...I couldn't have worded it better) Towering over the southern California coastline at an altitude of just over 800 feet high, Mount Soledad provides striking 360-degree views of Mexico, San Diego, Coronado, Los Angeles, and everything in between.
The cross that now stands at Mount Soledad has been doing so since 1952. But crosses have been standing here in one form or another since 1913. And they stand here to commemorate the soldiers of the Korean War, and the two World Wars. Mount Soledad is a war memorial that honors our fallen heroes. Those that stood in harms way to ensure us certain freedoms, and those that paid the ultimate price to ensure us the very same inalienable rights that an individual is using to try and have the cross removed.

Hi Andy I like this image a lot! Very very interesting capture! Yes I went through your portfolio and its very good photos you captured. Cheers Dhimant
Very nice photo! May this cross stand long after the battle to have it removed is over. In the town of St. Cloud, FL near me there was an individual that waged a legal battle to have a cross removed from the top of a city water tower years ago. It was removed from the city owned tower by court order. Then suddenly crosses appeared on private land and in front of local business. It's nice we all have rights!! Dwight
