About It's been a busy day ~ getting ready for some special services tomorrow. That's the only trouble with holidays ~ all the catching up when you get back! Still, I'm not complaining!! far from it! we had a great few days away in the wonderfully scenic South Hams.

Three mornings I got up early and shot 100 or so pictures before Carole even woke up! This one ~ of the Sir Galahad moored up in Dartmouth harbour ~ was taken not long after dawn!

Later this evening I plan on hitting my friends' list!! Talk about 'catching up'! Phew!!

Thanks for looking!

Have an excellent Sunday!

Best regards, Chris

I really like this one Chris, lighting is so nice, perfect in fact.

So calm, with the day just beginning. Love it, and the lights with reflections, look what we miss by not getting out in the early morning!

Very well done Chris,
Lori :)

Hi Chris. Good to have you back. I'm trying to catch up on comments.
Dartmouth - what a beautiful place. 1997 I was last there but it seems like yesterday it's such memorable place. This shot is so poignant. The atmosphere surrounding this ship, the name of which brings back awful memories, is so serene. I don't think any other time of day could give such a strong feeling.
Thanks for sharing Chris.

lovely composition Chris;
I like the comparison between the boats which results from this picture and the line created by the boats in the foreground; I think that Sir Galahad fit here very well :-)

Great light, worth getting up for and I like the chain of smaller boats in the foreground. I think it's the reflection of the ship's main light that makes the image.

Lovely sense of time and place to this shot, Chris. You've captured the early morning look perfectly... the D70 really does seem to suit you! I trust the discussions of building possibilities and the induction of the new youth pastor went well.

Excellent capture Chris, it has been many years since I last saw this ship - 1983 in fact as she stopped at Ascension Island.
It is a beautiful time of the day to get up -although it is nearly 0200am now lol (nightshift)
The lighting is wonderful and the colours look great.

Best wishes,
Steve

Hi Mr S :-)
Know what strikes me most? The contrast between the warship and the "friendly" little boats. Beautiful reflection, definitely worth waking up early for.

Welcome back Chris. I hope you enjoyed your break away. Seeing the name Sir Galahad brings back memories of the Falklands War. This obviously is the replacment for the Sir Galahad lost there. Regards John
