About The first Olympiad was celebrated in 1896 in Athens, however games were celebrated from 776 B.C. to 393 A.D., following Roman emperor Theodosius I banning of all pagan festivals.
Olympia was considered holy ground. Victorious athletes gave public thanks to the gods and were revered as heroes.

MAY ALL OLYMPIANS SUCCEED, AND ALL REACH FOR THE GOLD... FOR THE WORLD WILL BE WATCHING!

Thank you,and let's no forget the paraolympics too.
It is 4rth September and I feel devastated from the news in Russia and all those innocent lives that have been lost.
PEACE!

Actually the room is in Crete of a private quasi temple, while the shadows are actually from a shard of an amphora... superimposed with substantial transparency and contrast added.

I tried unsuccessfully to find my pictures from Olympia... but they must be in another shoe box...+?

Excellent shadows of former Olympic Greats.
Did you narrow the shadow on the right so it is cast down so well?
Really glad for this.

The title is excellent chosen...if I remind of the games in Munich...and the picture is not less excellent.
Kind regards,Ursula

Good one! I like the spiritual feel the 'moving' and vibrant shadows give to the mural. Cheers, Alice.
