I waited more than 15 minutes with my eye on the view finder for this bird to take to flight so that I could click a 'seagul in flight'. But this lazy bird other ideas. It stayed put and kept tempting me by wriggling and flapping its wings. Eventuly I gave up and took my eye of the view finder - next thing I sea , it took off ! Typical. I would have shot that bird that day if I had a gun. I swear. That explains how difficult is wild life photgraphy is. Hats off to those who do it waiting days and months.
I visited this beautiful Achill island last week. Achill is the largest island of numerous small islands off the coast of Ireland, 12/15 miles. Wonderful place for a relaxing holiday. There are few lovely beeches and they are surfers delight, especialy the keel beech.
I was there for two days. Plenty of beautiful seceneries and the ubquetious sheep for company.
This brings an end to Achill island images. Hope you guys enjoyed the seires.
Nice journal entry-like story. Wildlife/Nature Photogs should mostly savor the snapshot moments in their mind. They wouldn't get frustrated because the memories are indelible on the mind-film/memory sticks, if they soak it all in instead. Eventually we do get rewarded because of our patience & far-from-intruding-nature of ours. You're well on your way Ken, to getting all the right shots & compositions. Hang in there buddy! Shoot only with the camera and not a gun:0)! I love this shot & your portfolio. Keep up the good work! Regards, Sudhir.
PS: You wouldn't like an "Active Seagull" anyway in this compostion. Like your "Fly away gull" from 11 Oct here, for instance :0)! Hope you don't mind my "amateur-editing job" below.
Great story, animals are defenitly not too cooperative. But he has been made a star and center of attention by you regardless. He also has a very pretty background. Great shot. Alison
Very patient Man! I think what You captured here is really great! That little gull against the awesome background works so well! Great photo! My best...........JOHN
