Hey A.T. The depth of field on the photo is purely optical. It's one of the properties of the excellent Canon 50mm f1.8 II lens. Actually if I remember right, this shot was taken at f2.8. You should see shots taken at f1.8 with the same lens. Thanks for your comment.

Very nice. Is the sudden shift from sharp to blurred focus something you did in Photoshop? It looks a bit too abrupt to be an optical effect. Either way, impressive.
