I see. I didnt think of this. I have thought to emphase the couple and the bright white areas in background draw the attention, I would try some burning or bluring.

the box thing on the left contains life jackets as we are on a ferry. The reason I didn't crop it is that I wanted to allow the feeling of how they were in such a public place and yet they were so in their own world despite all that was happening around them. When I cropped it, it didn't have the open public feeling that I so wanted to keep in this photo. thanks for your insight please feel free to comment on anything in my portfolio Igor.
Cheers, Tim

Very good shot. I would crop a little on the left (the elevator?) and at the bottom.

Hi Tim, Quite a surprising shot! I came back to your portfolio to take another look at your marvellous landscapes, when I noticed this one. As intense as your landscapes, but a complete 180 degree change in subjects, yet unmistakably consistent in atmosphere. As with your landscapes, the scene makes the viewer (me) forget anything that happens around. Great, very intimate shot. (yeah, exactly like you say, but in a different context) Very cool shot. I only think the ashtray (?) in front bites a bit with the composition. Other than that again an outstanding shot.
Cheers,
Hugo

haha good candid shot! i like the composition with all the people but the couple is clearly separate from the rest. the b&w does look nice but it might be cool to keep the cropping as it is and make everything except the couple in b&w...just an idea... Kessia

I like it in color and black and white. They are indeed oblivious to anything or anyone at this moment. Young love :) ....This is so different from your usual style. I'm impressed. Very well presented.

Tim, personally I would crop the left half of the picture off and second Karen's idea of black and white for a completely different feel to the photo. Both versions work well for different moods. Here's my treatment, what do you think?

i didn't center them because i wanted to show what was happining around them and display their focus dispite the public arena.

Hey, hey get a room you two....
Three weeks away from retireing, that seems like the right thing to say.... My wife who just looked in over my shoulder wonders why they are not centered more. Perhaps the photographer did not wish to seem obvious about shooting two people who were oblivious to the world>

My, good eye out there. This is a good human interest photo. nice color and looking at your camera settings, they are acting like this in broad daylight ! You can see mountains from the deck somewhere right ? jimc

I like the fact that both the couple and the rest of the people aren't paying attention to each other. Interesting, would like to see a b&w version-but I know you love color~
