About This is a montage of photos of each of the instruments which were then arranged on a neutral digital background. Most of the instruments were photographed while hanging on various walls; others were on table-tops. I created the shadow for each instrument--one at a time. Presenting the individual instruments in something approximating the right scale was an unexpected challenge--all made simply by eye. The image was made as a presentation piece for my friend, Allen (hence the title).

Oh George this is brilliant! So interested in all the instruments- a beautiful dark guitar there. Just the sort of thing I know how difficult it is to do. You mention sizing and I find so much to do with maths in nearly everything I create! Angles are so difficult too. Wonderful to learn all these things that have always been around us! And you did the shadows- again not easy- and you did a brilliant job. I had added the shadows to the guitars on the piano too- great challenge! Thanks for putting me on to this picture George- I really love it!

A delightful peice of PS work and rich imagination.

The image itself is unique and pleasing. They are all floating in mid air while the shadows impart the sense of 3D to the image. Well done.

Regards,
ken.

I used Corel PhotoPaint to make this picture because I am more comfortable with it than with PhotoShop, but the same feature is available.

In PhotoPaint, you cut the image, paste it on the background as a new object, and use the "Interactive Dropshadow" tool.

In PhotoShop, paste the object as a new layer and use "Layer-Layer Style-Drop Shadow."

I hope this is useful. My poor Spanish would not begin to let me make a satisfactory explanation.
