Hi Jim,
A good first attempt at street photography. Great subject, that man. The car is a bit of a shame.
He looks like an interesting character. Did you think of going and having a chat, maybe taking a closer portrait of him playing, perhaps?
A lot of the good candids/street photographs I have seen (I love the subject and am making awkward attempts at it) and admire are taken from up close (e.g. Bresson's photos, all taken with a standard lens), very few, though they do exist, are taken with the long end of a zoom.
Regards, Angelo.

Good capture, Jim. I find myself wanting to get a closer look at him. His hair and beard are so flowing that it caught my eye. I didn't notice the duct tape on the guitar until you pointed it out in your comments. I wonder what the image would look like converted to black and white, and zoomed/cropped to focus on his face and guitar; especially showing the duct tape? The lighting is perfect to show the visible portions of his face. You've got a good eye for a very engaging portrait of another persons' life, each element helps tell the story. That's one of the characteristics of so many of your photograhs that my wife and I have noticed, they tell a story or are part of a story. Thanks for sharing, Rodney

Great human interest. Makes you wonder how these fellows survive. Have a lot of them in Az during the winter months. Don.

What a great shot, yes I agree with both Linn and Chris. Thanks for your recent comments, you said you wouldn't know where to start with cloning out things, have had a quick go at this, see if you like. Margaret

First attempt, you say!! Well, Jim, a great start to your new found genre! Excellent shot of this man-of-the-road! I'm an "old guitar picker", too, and I wouldn't want to play one that was held together with tape!! Good work! Kind regards, Chris

What a character. I bet there is a lot of history in that man ... some sad, some happy .. but I think mostly quite interesting.
Well spotted.
