About This is part of a ride called "Samurai" at our annual local Firemens' Carnival. There is a gondola on a very long vertical arm and a counterweight at the other end of the arm. The people-filled gondola swings back and forth, higher and higher, then loops over the top and even hangs upside-down for a few moments!

This is the bulb-clad counterweight as it swung through the bottom of its arc during a 1-second exposure
