I really hope you have finished with the Cigarettes. I stopped 1 1/2 years ago and it was do or die. later found plugged arteries which were fixed. good thing I quite smoking or I might not have made it to that point.

The problem with my hand?
Actually it was a problem with my whole right arm and I haven't been able to use it for some time (no photos, no comment writing!)
I went on a holiday in North Africa and in Tunesia I was involved in a road accident, where I broke my collar bone, shoulder blade and my right arm.

Thank you! I am quite surprised that I didn't see your portfolio before. There is something about your work that makes it fascinating. You have many excellent captures of original subjects.
I like this elaboration of your portrait. The skin tones are unusually light and the background is also not in a colour tone you often see in a portrait. You definitely do not lack originality and creativity. I like the pose also. I am just wondering about the crop. Is this the original size of the photo or did you crop it? The idea of posing with your hand on your head is great as it adds expressivity to the image. I only think it's a shame you don't see more of the hand or that you see too much of the vertical line of your arm. In this way, it gets too much importance. This is of course only a matter or personal opinion. You may have reasons for liking the crop the way it is.
By the way, I've just seen the portrait of you you added to you bios. It's very cool. Expressivity and effects are fantastic.

Hi Emgy, Won't comment on the deception as I've blocked that from my memory for at least two years... Besides, the Portugese did deserve to win, If I'm completely honest....;o)
What strikes me in this image is that I feel it's a bit "l'art pour l'art". At least that's the feeling I have with this kind of work. There's a lengthy article in the last issue of Focus about these techniques, and the illustrations are all made by what I believe to be renowned artist, but I can't help myself getting that same feeling when I look at their work. With this remark, I do not make a distinction between the quality of this image in comparison to those images (have you seen them), but as a revelation for myself, that this is not my favourite kind of photography / digital art.
So that still leaves the quality of this shot untouched. Apart from it being a tad too centered for my taste, I think the PS job is very well carried out. You clearly created a highly professional image, and I can see why people dig this. One other thing that I notice is that with the elaborate PS job, your nose blends in with your cheek, removing the levels. Not necessarily a flaw, but maybe something to consider for applying the finishing touch.
I recently found out how difficult it can be to operate a camera with your dominant hand when taking a self portrait. I used to be able to handle that quite alright, but found it considerably more difficult with my heavier F100 and D100... Took me quite a few shots to get it under control, and ended up wedging my camera beween my knees....;o) That worked!

Hello Emgy! I'm so happy you are recovering, and nice to hear that you will be more on Usefilm again. Unfortunately I will have to be less here... millions of other things to do... Holiday, going away, people come here etc etc.
I like this image of your's, it looks very strange, abstract and weird in a really good way! The orange colours makes it look like if you are inside fire, and the timing (with smoke coming out) together with the expression... it's super!
So... how is it going, your anti smoking? Do you use things like nicotin chewing gum, plaster etc?
I really look up to people who can stop smoking. They (you!) are so strong! I am not that strong, I still smoke... :-\

I'm not a soccer nut all the time but I have to admit that I become one during the European and the World Cup competitions. If I don't break may bones again in 2010, I may be in South Africa watching the games and.... if you're going to invite me to your place, make sure that I don't get too close to your ragdolls. I'd be tempted to steal some of them from you.

That crash was in 1987.It let me with some drawbacks...not visible, but still in.
I?m car mad, I did race, when young.That speed was in a tuned Porsche 911 bi-turbo.It was not it?s maximum, it was good for a bit more, but I had no more road to go to the end.

As for the soccer game tonight....well the best and the luckiest team will go to the finals. If it will be your country, i will be happy for you and I'll send you my congratulations.

Thanks Emgy, I hope you easily recover from your crash and for lost ilusions of win to Portugal.At that point we, both, can hope to win, both are sure to win, but only one must win.If I lost, my congratulations,cheers to Holland.
I also have two very bad crashes, but I?m , almost, in good shape.The good point, I lost the minimum of fear I had, after the last one I have done over 270 km/h with the blessed feeling of floating in heaven...
