it must be scanner not you, as I can see there is no sharpness at any point of the picture, if it is your "fault" there would be some sharp place at the picture; even if your shutter was 4,5 there would be enough sharpness for most of the picture;

Thanks for your comment Lukasz, and yes seem to be having a few problems with photos not coming out sharp from the scan, will have to try another scanner to see if its me or the scanner. Regards steve.

I am just looking through your pictures and I have found that one very interesting, there is lovely symmetry and just great object for B&W photography, I wish only it was more sharp;

Nice composition, I really like to perspective with the boards and the symmetrical nature of the shot. The grain works nicely too. The lean of the lamp post is slightly off putting but that may be how it was!
