Anne - have you tried using the fill flash on your photo software? I tried it on your image and it works great - it lightens up the tones beautifully.

Very nicely composed, fine colors, lighting and details.
Suggest use of tripod, manual focusing and white paper to use reflecting light (comming from the top in this case) to brighten up the blossom from below a bit...
