The reference of AB1600 was the name of the strobe used. Alien Bee 1600. I used the vagabond power supply to provide the power for the strobe. Since this was done around 12:00, I needed all the power it could muster ;) When trying to shoot over ambient lighting on a clear day, you have to be able to generate enough light to get past f16 or so.
Since I was shooting rather slow on this one to get the blur of the car, around 45 or so, I needed the power from the vagabond to pump up that strobe.
I used a polarizing filter to help get the clouds to look like I wanted, then pumped up the contrast on them alone in PS to get the final result.
Regards,

Great photo...I really like the story of the composition, but I think I'm most impressed with the detail in the cloud bank...I have attempted to shoot under similar conditions and been unable to pull this off. Is this as simple as aperture and shutter? I doubt there is, but, any significant PS work? In your notes you show "AB1600". Is this an ISO designation? So many questions...sorry. I do like your work. Pretty good use of fill, although it unavoidably flattened the lighting on your subject a little. I REALLY like how both cars are also white.
