About Apart from cropping and resizing, no PS!! Perfect black background - thanks to my HB for making me a "cave" :-))

You are going to have to live with the black background for now :-) We have to get through our cold Winter before I can go "el naturale" again :-))

Thank you for the compliment Arwa :-)

No, haven't taken any recent cat images. I think I am too spoiled now with a subject that sits still :-))

Welcome back Jeroen :-)

Robert made the "L" shaped backboard "holder" like you suggested, but I still got a lot of light reflection on the object and background. Then he stuck a piece of board on top of the "L", like a little roof. And I still got too much light on the subject/background. Then, he converted the "L" into a "U" and it worked beautifully! :-))

I still haven't found the black velvet - would need to travel a bit further to a specialist fabric shop - will do this coming week. But I fear I will have a lot of cat hair stuck to it! I even find it on my flowers

As for my frames ... tsk, tsk ... just when I start having fun :-((((

You know, I so appreciate all the time you spend on my images and your insightful comments. Thank you Anne! I also love your sense of humour :-))

I shot a white Iris as well today, and even after working on it for a while, I just dumped all the images. Whites are still going to make me go nuts! I was lucky with the blues and purples this morning. It was quite overcast and I think that helped bring out the deep hues.

Linn,

I'm interested in the shape of your cave. Could you, briefly, explain it?

Hi Linn --

It's so hard to fathom that while it's hot and sunny outside my window, you are freezing in the cold of winter! Oh well, soon enough our situations will be reversed! lol

This image is stunning. I'm running out of superlative words to use for your images--they all blow me away. I love Iris, so naturally I begin wanting to like this, and it does not disappoint. Your colors are so deep and rich, and once again you have captured the delicate striations in the petals. The shades of deep lavender through deep blue are just magnificent, and the black sets it off beautifully.

Now I have to find my thesaurus and get some new words.

Regards,
Anne
