Trying out some water shot using my Nikon 105mm Macro lens... Distance from Lens to subject is 6-inches. Paid more attention to the DOF, especially for the 105mm macro lens, as it can result in out-of-foucs easily.
Why are you not pointing the flash on the subject!?!? I do it, but maybe a little bit upper from the water stream and I know sometimes I got these orange stripes of the flash, but art is art ;-) I wish I can upgrade my camera, but I have no money to buy me a better one, my country is still in transition and my salary is so lowwwwwwwww! uf.. dont remind me ! Kisses, Biliana
Thanks for your comments, Biliana... Yes I'm still trying hard. I used a external flash (but not pointing direct onto my subject).
Any plan to upgrade your camera ? :>
Cheers ! Bobby

Keep trying, you are close. I cannot believe that you cannot have it sharper with your macro lens and Nikon?? still try ! Where is the focus? did you use a flash.? incredible capture! Please lend me your camera ha h a.. kisssssssssssss :0)
Hi Hugo, thanks for your comments... This is my 1st try taking such picture... More testing for improvement. All comments give me more motivation to improve my pictures.
I took this picture at downward angle and lots of things need to take into consideration, like focusing area, timing and also the DOF. The closer we go, the shallow DOF we get. Therefore I got to set at F8. I shall try F11 or greater.
Hi Bobby, Very good dynamic shot, and well composed. The reflection in the shockwave add a very nice touch of dimension and dynamism, and the tones are perfect! The DOF is rather shallow, and I know how difficult it is to exactly choose the focal area. IMO, there is some room for improvement, but I think its almost spot on already. Very good shot!~
