About In an art gallery while visiting San Francisco a sculpture of glass was on display. It was GORGEOUS!! The price tag was over $18,000.00....Wellll, since I wanted two of them, and they didn't have two, I decided not to buy any! (kidding of course) One of the owners told me how the artist created this piece, I asked if he would let me take a few macro photos of some of the cuts, and couldn't believe he said it was OK! I was amazed because usually galleries will not let you photograph anything at all. He asked if I could Email him some of the finished 'creations', which of course I will do! FUN FUN FUN!! :)
NO FILTERS OF ANY KIND ON THESE! (wonder of wonders!)

Wow Lori! They look absolutely stunning! You really did capture that special beauty! Okay, perhaps not so much that I would buy it for that amount of money... haha. But that would be because I can't afford it! ;-) Amazingly beautiful!

Well Lori, if you can't own the goods, you can own the images :-)

Must have been a terrific sight - can just imagine how those lights danced!

Well done - not only on the images, but also charming your way to get them

HI Hugo,
Now THAT is a good idea! Not sure I have the energy to do that tonight...we'll see. The part that was lighter was originally much larger!!

I'll show you what I come up with. I change my mind on the three because I didn't think 3 would be seen well, they would be too narrow. But you sure raised an interesting point!! :)
Lori :)

Sorry, misread... You like the light part, so no need to crop it off...;o)

Cheers,

Hugo

This is very interesting. You manage to see these things that most of us just pass up and enjoy looking at. Very nice work. Don.

Hi Lori, It's always difficult to guess after the motivations of a true artist...;o) But thanks for explaining on my second "issue"... I see your point. The white line would probably not fit on either outside... I'm curious to see how three horizontally places but smaller strips (evenly distributed...;o) would work; maybe a smaller strip of the one on the left, removing the light part, would balance the entire thing...

Cheers,

Hugo

LOL LOL!! OK, I'll concede with the space between the two...didn't think about that one until you mentioned it and I agree.

HOWEVER--(LOL) If you only knew how many times I rotated those prints (and originally was working with 3 instead of 2)...started with horizontal, went to verticle, switched them around. Colored lines vs white lines, all the same color vs different. FINALLY, I decided I was going crazy, and here it is. I didn't want the lighter portion falling out of the frame, afraid it would take the eye out of the frame...couldn't crop it our because then I would have lost an area I really liked....all this just to say, I agree with you on one, and not on the other!!! :)

Hi Lori... I guess the lesson behind all this is that if you ask nicely, you are allowed to take anything home...;o)

Great shot; I love the refraction of the light, and the combination of the two shots together. I find the framing in the middle a bit too wide compared to the sides, though. Placing the two more together would've created a more homogenic presentation, IMO.

Also, have you considered switching the two photos? the white strip of the left one on the right side (still with me?) is a bit distracting. Other than that, Great shots!

Cheers,

Hugo
