Linn, Nice to hear from you again. Yes, I've noticed some Dahlias were top-heavy when I went to the local nursery. But on the whole they were fairly early/mid term on most of the ones I saw. I have alot of Dahlia pics to process and will look for what you mentioned of re: blur effects,etc. Best to you.. Bill

You know what I was thinking ... try shooting this particular sideways, but focus on the centre, and have those wavy petals out of focus. I think it might look great.
One problem you might find with Dahlias is that as the flower opens, the head starts hanging. So you are going to have to go down on the knees, and shoot upwards.
