Thanks for the comments. Yes this was taken through water. The tide pool was cut off from the surf so it was very calm. I tried several angles to reduce the ammount of glare. For this shot I positioned the camera so that it was looking straight down on top off the anemone, I think that might account for the disorientation when veiwing.

I had the same feeling as Margaret--and came to the same conclusion (it was just me, there IS no up and down). Is this taken through water? I ask because sea anemones normally only look like this under water... turning into ugly blobs out of water. If so, exemplary clarity! Really great.
