About I think this is a landscape in the city, so it must be a true 'Cityscape'.
It's has been taken in the centre of São Paulo, Brazil, near the Theatro Municipal. In my opinion it's not really a representative image of S.P., because 'the rest' of the city really looks different, but this stil a part of it.
Have fun, Jeroen

Fico contente em saber que você gostou do meu pais. Admiro sua vontade de aprender sobre novas culturas, e idiomas.
Você veio a trabalho ou apenas de férias?.

Excellent framing and a nice perspective. Don't think I would go for the outrageous tones though. Robert

Minha velha cidade de São Paulo, é um fragmento maravilhoso com um olhar único é poêtico.
Eu gostei muito desta imagem, meus olhos não exergam de maneira tão sutil o centro da cidade.
Quando você fez a imagem?
Um abraço.

Claudio

Wow Hugo, it is outrageous! Need some time to adapt to it, but you did it very quickly I must say!

...(continued)... And this one is what I meant by or go for an "outrageous" tone in the bright parts. All I did is just increase the saturation (alot) and played with the Hue, leaving the dark parts Black. (I always like dark reds, but with the Hue you can select the entire scope of colours)

Cheers,

Hugo

Outrageous

Hi Jeroen, A quick and dirty PS job, but it illustrates what I mean. Here's the version where the blacks have been converted to sepia, but where the white is still white. (The Brown -> Dark area version)

Hugo,

in my opinion, these kind of photo's 'must' be shot in B&W, or Negro e Branco as they say in portugues. There are simple too many colours in a shot like this one, even in a brown-greyish city as São Paulo.
The Sepia was caused by me or the scanner: I scanned it on my Coolscan V in colour and this is the result then.
I don't completely understand what you mean with your options; I think I get the brown-> dark areas, but what do you mean with the other one?

Nice job of keeping the verticals parallel. When I saw the thumbnail I thought it might be Los Angeles. Good seeing.

Hi Jeroen, Very good perspective, its amazing how straight those trees grow. I think it's a good choice going for B&W, because I think the lighting might have been a tad bright for bringing the best out of this shot with colour. I feel a bit ambiguous about the sepia tone, though. I think there are two options: either go for a brown tone in the dark areas, or go for an "outrageous" tone in the bright parts.

Cheers,

Hugo
