Grew up in AK - miss it like air! - Actually I miss air.. Atlanta GA smogg is NOT what I consider air.. count your blessings..

It could be either really cheap, or really expensive. As far as hotels, there price is average; but if you prepare properly and are the adventureous type, hiking with tents will give you a better experience, no matter what though, a car is a necessity unless you do tourist group. But no matter the price, it's worth it

Ah, and my husband and I would LOVE to go for a bit of northern exposure! Is there a cheap/good hotel there? Don't you need a car to get around?
