About I get this feeling she likes getting her picture taken. Well, at least she likes the attention. She stayed in this position for me for a good 4 minutes and then when I stood up after the session, she went on her merry way as if she knew I was done. :o)

Stefan, thank you for your suggestions and comments. I did like the softness of the photo which is why I think I chose to post this one instead of one of the other ones with more contrast, but honestly, I like them both ways. I'll be sure to try using different lighting techniques next time around. My tortoise will more than likely be willing to pose for me again. haha

BTW, she doesn't like the carpet much either, and would rather crawl noisily across the wooden floor!

I think the original had a nice balance of contrast and tones and makes a good soft portrait of this character. It is more important to get light in the shaded portion of the face than preventing the blown-out whites IMO, but there would other techniques for accomplishing that (reflector, fill flash). Not sure about the rug :-)

Emgy, I tried different things with this one, and I wondered if I should have fiddled with the contrast of the photo. After looking at your version, and the one that I posted, I think that because I chose B&W, it looks better with more contrast, but I guess it depends on the eye of the viewer. THanks for your comments and suggestions! )

A lovely model and a very nice pose indeed. I like the expression.
This image is well composed. It's a shame that the left part is slightly over exposed. I tried to correct it in PS, I hope you don't mind.
Anyway, it's a very nice pet portrait
Best regards - Emgy

A nice image. I love animal expressions. A reflector card would have filled in the shadowed side and allowed in more light for more detail. Good composition. A fun image. Good work!
