Extremely strong photo, Darrin. No comment needed, it tells the story on its own. Excellent composition and ditto lighting (that's no surprise, looking at your portfolio once again). I think the harsh reality emitted through the expression of the sister is displayed stronger in the colour version. This creates a rather dated look, but it is still an every day reality for many. Very good shot, though.

oh my gosh, this is so beautiful! seriously, the soft light across her adds so much to the mood, which is already present in her expression and the way she holds her little brother. and that little dress has great patterns. this is a perfect environmental portrait.
