Thanks for the suggestion; when I think about it, a Canadian (NB) photographer, Freeman Patterson, would have done that, he uses the simplest of compositions of the 'varying surface kind' quite often. I guess that I was preoccupoed with the showing of the layers of coulur rather than being more abstract, certainly taking away the trees would indeed accomplish that.
Beautiful image, looks a bit like an abstract painting. Have you thought of maybe not including the trees? I really like the variation in colors, and the beautiful lines of the grass. Rather interesting landscape shot-very tranquil.
