Terence - This ship is extremely difficult to photograph due to its location with respect to the sun. Shooting from the side shown in your image, late afternoon is the best time, provided you can get out into the bay to take the shot. I've found that night shots work quite well if you set up on a tripod and use a wide angle lens.
