quite different tones (comparing to Europe) isn't it? I like athmosphere. Something at the bottom part destroy the composition. I would crop the upper section. best regards,w

i echo neil's comment (above). much like my picture that you commented on (thanks very much, btw) this was probably a pic where you expecting something else from the quality of light, state of the sky, etc. but sometimes mother nature does not cooperate as expected and we end up with a different pic. i think you've pulled this off very well. i like the long exposure making the water look more like early-morning mist than actual water. excellent blue tone. and you even managed to keep some shadow detail. all-in-all it works for me... keep 'em coming.

Hi Jorg, thanks for your recent comment on my photo. This photo (and title) of yours made me stop and think. All too often we go out with a preconceived idea of what the photo should be - in this case maybe you had hoped for a sunset. When it doesn't eventuate we are sometimes disappointed and become closed to other opportunities around us. This photo shows me/reminds me to look again at the scene. You have captured it very well with the milky water, the rocks and the little bit of mist. i would have liked some sort of highlight on the rocks, but maybe that was not possible. Thanks for sharing it with us. Einen schönen Gruss aus der Schweiz. Alles Gute Neil

Reif, doesn't look as bad as you're saying. It's a good composition and the bluish tint gives it lots of feeling

Thanks Brian. Actually I am not so happy with it. I tried three times to bring a version to the website and deleted the first two attempts and also was stempted to delete this one. I am not sure what is wrong with certain photos. They look completely normal when I have them on my (lousy flatpanel) monitor in the final size but they look terrible full of noise afetr loading. I wonder if it is the limitation to 300k pics on this website. I wonder if there is something to do to get better results after uploading.

I think it's beutiful...really, I'm not kidding. The blue shade is really nice, the sky is just phenomenal. Really nice job Reif! :)
