@Mark: Thanks for your comment! Hm, ok for the title...maybe not well chosen. I did use 3 gradation layers in combination with masks (don't know the english word for it): one for the bit darker frame, one for the sky (except the church itself) and one with a gradient to make the sky a bit darker at the top....that's all. Andy

I find the title to be meaningless in comparison to the photograph. I don't associate it with the image at all. This is a really beautiful photo. I don't know how you managed to pull off the difficult exposure situation except maybe to dodge the building or make two different exposures; one for the sky and the other for the building and then combining the two together. It's absolutely breathtaking.
