Huntingdon, Quebec, on the Chateauguay River. This river flows north in a serpent-like, meandering course from New York State. The water level changes often according to the precipiation. In the spring, huge chunks of ice will block the stream at varous places, including the bridge at Huntingdon, causing an ocasional flooding in the town itself. In this photo, taken when the temperature ws about -35C with the wind chill factor early in the mornng, one can see the high level of the icy water.
Brrrrr! Great capture, and thanks for the detailed "about" which puts it in context. I'm not sure I like the way the frame has been allowed to shadow the edges of the picture itself, although I can that must have been deliberate. Why? I wonder...
