About Jenny wants to go outside but it's too damn cold. What happened to the unseasonably warm weather we were having? Very similar to a previous shot I made called Make it Stop, but this is shot indoors at sunrise instead of out on the deck. The photo has been manipulated in Paint Shop Pro using Virtual Painter.

Went back to the other server tonight. It's online again. Definetely a different echo from what appears to be a very interesting community. I'll look into it.

The sculpting light, and its warm tones, are fabulous. The silhouette tells the story too : the way the ears are set tells of the cat's attention to what is going on outside.

At this time, it appears that ther server you indicated is not available. Also, I notice that the image of the original is in the .gif format. I am not that aware of the standards used here, but is this intentional ?

Here is the original. With 33 views and just 3 comments, I take it that many people don't know what to make of this. The illumination for this photo is the rising sun. The blue and the orange are the natural tones of the light at that moment, intensified by Virtual Painter. The detail is still there in the sky on the left but is muted by similar colours. I ain't no Ansel Adams.

Hmm... The moment is right and so is the silhouette, but I confess that the overall treatment is not working for me. I miss what is lost in the sky in the middle left. Also, the texture in the cat's fur doesn't feel confortable. The angle of view and the overall structure of the image are pleasing - I would like to see what the original was like. You perhaps had a blown out area in the middle left. Perhaps a high-key version would work too ?

A pretty cool image John. I like the way you have edited this one. That, and I'm a sucker for lots of blue in an image that isn't a color cast! How'd ya get the cat to pose? A frozen fish in the yard???

I like it, really like it, specially because it has something to tell.
The text link to other photo is superb.
