About this place is the railway station plus local ale house...it was the poetry championship for $50...this guy took grand honors he recited his poem to music while swinging through the beams in the pub roof...hence the blur due to low light

I really miss the ongoing excitement and spectacle which goes on in your part of the world. There's not that much going on here in Busan, certainly nothing of the sort you get in and around Byron.

I like this one too, but it's missing something.........the girl with the spoon! I know she was here, but I can't find her in the picture. Do you think she left over Sarah H's remark about her spoon being too small? Cheers, Roger!!

I really like this photo. The expressions of the onlookers are great. I like the the low lighting.

Replying to your question about the Thai Sales area, not sure what you mean about contrast sharpening. I used the USM settings you recommended, which worked very well at full size, but when I resized to 640 pixels for Usefilm, neither plain vanilla (mild) sharpening nor reapplication of your settings made the image look as good as the full size version. So I used the sharpening tool in the PaintShop Pro "retouch" palette, with the settings that seemed to work best (they're in Japanese and I'm not sure what to call them in English--anyway something called "hardness" worked best as "zero"). This let me paint delicate touches of sharpening at critical points in the image without producing grainy surface or over-sharpened edges where they weren't needed. I'm very grateful for the tip. Because Rob said it looked overexposed, I darkened it a bit, too. Roger and out.

This is a bit different from Japanese poetry readings. I think yours seem more fun. They certainly make better subjects for pictures.
