i think it's great how it is and needs no changes. at first i thought it was an abstract, the colours are so vibrant, almost surreal. i especially like the streaky car headlights.

Russell - I've said it before and I'll say it again, sometimes you scare me very much. hahaha :)
All - Thank you all for your comments, observations and cropping tips. It's very much appreciated. I've been playing with a few different crops and its been very enlightening.
I plan on going out again for some night cityscape shots towards the end of the week (hopefully it won't rain, but this being Seattle you know there's always that chance). I also hope to scan in a few more shots I took Thursday. Thanks again! :)

Hi Donald.
Good shot. I think the cropping is absolutely fine. The only alternative I can come up with would be choosing a square format. That way the two streets would receive more emphasis and the overall composition would get a stronger formalization.

Donald, If I would crop this, and it's not likely that I would, I would remove the parking garage from the left and take a little off the bottom. Those two areas seem to draw my eyes away from the main part of the picture, which is the majority of the lights in the buildings. I think you've done a great job with the exposure. That Reala is pretty darn close with colour reproduction, especially in a situation where you have a lot of different types of lighting such as you have here.

The busy aspect of this image is one of its strengths, as it emphasizes the vibrancy of the city. I can sense all those people going about their business, each independant of the others but somehow all part of a greater whole.

Very nice night pic... looks like an abstract... it's too busy for me but maybe it's just personal

I like night cityscapes. I wouldn't crop a thing in this one. I would like to see more of the surrounding area of where this was taken. I do alot of night cityscapes in Chicago (mostly at the lakefront).

I agree that this needs no cropping at all. I really like the colors and the motion. If I had any complaint, and trust me this is very minor and just my opinion, is the lower rigt side is a little dark compared to the rest of the composition. Great shot, I wish I had taken it!

This one I don't think I'd crop at all. I'm not sure why/how you could. Magnificent image. And I do think Russell is right on the height... it does look more like 523' 6" to me ;) Great shot. ~Adam

Donald,
Looks more like 523 feet 6 inches to me, but who is counting? Great shot! I bet the print is magnificent! Love the variety of colors in this city scape. Later my friend,
Russ
