An abandoned trailer tells a story of failure to make a go of it in a remote Mojave desert location. (Don't ask me what the words on the trailer refer to!)
I was not familiar with Troy Paiva, but he has very nice stuff. He must go out there with a generator and colored lights.
I converted this to black and white but it seemes too bland, so I went for muted colors instead. You're right that the lighting could be a lot better; it was middday. I think the shot was taken from about waist level, squatting--maybe even lower would have been better, though there was a lot of clutter on the ground that I wanted to avoid.
I like your desert work and this one is my favorite beause of the mystery factor. If I may, I think it might be impoved by 3 things. 1. I think black and white better suits this image. 2. The lighting could be better. 3. I think a lower angle (like from the ground) would make a more powerful messege.
Your stuff reminds of Troy Paiva's work. You're probably familiar with him, but if not check him out at lostamerica.com.
